Huipil Bag - Large Market Bag Flowers 8 ***SOLD***
A roomy bag made from a Mayan woman's huipil or shirt. There is a large unlined outside pocket formed by the neckline of the huipil and covered in a button down flap and a long 2 1/2" wide padded strap that can be worn over both shoulders for comfort. It zippers closed.The back and the strap are made from an ikat design in a hand woven cotton.
The hand embroidered flowers on this bag are a beautiful example of the designs from Patzun. Every Mayan village has its own style of weaving and embroidery and women take great pride in their clothing. Bags are cut from actual huipils and may show slight signs of wear.
