Huipil Bag - Medium Square Chichicastenango Symbols 2 ***SOLD***
This bag was made by the Mayans, recycled out of the beautiful hand-woven and embroidered traditional clothing known as huipils. Each village has a unique style of embroidery.There is an outside pocket framed by what would have been the neckline of the huipil with the traditional embroidery which represents the sun. In Chichicastenango there is a tradition that says that when a woman wears the sun pattern around her neck it signifies that she is the center of her own universe. The bag comes with a tag explaining its origin and the town that it's from. It's one-of-a-kind. When it's gone, it's gone.
