Huipil - Pocket Bag Violet 3 ***SOLD***

These bags were made by the Mayans, recycled out of the beautiful hand-woven and embroidered traditional clothing known as huipils. This little pocket bag, probably from the town of Santiago Atitlan, is heavily textured handwoven cotton with hand embroidered flowers. There is a little metallic thread embroidered into the leaves. Each village has a unique style of embroidery. Every bag is a one-of-a-kind piece of folk art and comes with a tag explaining its origin and the town that it's from. Huipil bags are made from older and sometimes vintage materials and sometimes have worn spots and loose threads. This should not be seen as as a defect. Size 8 " x 7 "
