Mayan Huipil Pillow - Santiago Birds ***SOLD***

This throw-pillow cover is made from the front of a Mayan woman's huipil, or blouse. You can see where the neck of the shirt would have been at the top of the pillow. The surrounding fabric is made from a traditional skirt or corte hand-woven with an ikat design. Hand woven and embroidered in the town of Santiago Atitlan where the huipil designs often feature rows of colorful birds. Zippered back and sized for an 18" x 18" insert
